HIV and Equal Employment Opportunity

People living with HIV routinely face unfair treatment in employment on account of their health condition. C-HELP offered legal advice to 2 aggrieved individuals who were compelled to test for HIV and demoted on discovery of HIV status respectively, by invoking provisions of the HIV/AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017 to provide relief in terms of financial compensation and restitution.
