Legislating Health
C-HELP is committed to health-related legislative efforts in keeping with India’s constitutional framework and her international commitments.
It also considers the robust implementation of extant laws as a crucial concomitant to legislating health. C-HELP produces knowledge to support and critique such efforts, including legislative drafting, review, and literacy.
C-HELP engages in Research & Advocacy aimed at developing and disseminating knowledge on law and policy issues as they pertain to health. This includes analysing and advising on proposed or extant legislation, policy or practice, convening expert fora, undertaking research projects, and engagement with actors in law, policy and related disciplines.

LEGAL LITERACY & CAPACITY BUILDING
C-HELP engages in Legal Literacy & Capacity-building aimed at informing people about the law, its utility and the rights and obligations contained within it in relation to health issues. This is done through legal education, workshops, and using new media as tools to make law and policy more accessible and relatable to the citizenry.
India's role as the world's pharmacy entails a responsibility to make safe, effective and affordable medicines accessible – domestically and abroad. This reputation came by way of a long, eventful journey that shaped India's patent law, which is the focus of this three-part Issue Brief. Part 1 analyses key health safeguards in India’s patent law and the changes they have undergone.
